Week 1 - Mood Boards

The first task I have been assigned is to create mood boards for my film. Theses mood boards will be used to influence the early research towards my film, and set a tonal and visual aesthetic. The research for these mood boards have been taken from a variety of sources including, museums, film, television, books, and my own photography. I had previously created a mood board  for my film as part of my work in the second year, but the three new boards I have created look at certain areas of my film in greater detail. My original mood board can be found in an earlier post, and my three new ones are displayed below.

Each mood board focuses on a different aspect of my film. The first is location, the second setting, and the third my artistic inspiration.

Year 3 - Term 1 Brief

By the end of my third year of University, I will have created a short animated film, the basis for this I have already began producing. By starting this process during my second year, I have began my final year with a good understanding of the film I want to achieve.

Throughout the first term I will compile and complete the preproduction of the film. Although I have already began some basic preproduction work (such as character designs, storyboards, and animatic) this term will allow me to create more work towards my final film outcome. Throughout this term, tasks will be given to me on a weekly basis; spreading preproduction out across the whole term in manageable chunks. This blog will continue to chronicle the production of my film, and show the weekly progression I am taking.

Summer Work - 3D Animatic

To prepare myself to begin work when I start my third year, over the summer break I completed a 3D version of my animatic. As with the work previously detailed, this animatic with be used within the preparation of my final year film. This animatic is not set in stone, and can be changed and tweaked when necessary. However, I am pleased with my efforts, and feel like by creating it, I am able to start pre-production of my film with a good idea of when my film may look like when finished.
